  25. The Internet is a network that connects thousands of computers around
  26. the world. The Internet provides many services, including <A
  27. HREF="mail.htm"><I>electronic mail</I></A>, <A
  28. HREF="news.htm"><I>newsgroups</I></A>, and the <I>World Wide Web</I>.

  32. Mosaic is specifically designed to view documents on the World Wide
  33. Web. Most documents on the World Wide Web include hyperlinks to
  34. related documents. Mosaic allows you to move from one document to
  35. another by simply clicking these links.

  39. Every document on the Internet has its own address, called a
  40. <I>uniform resource locator</I> (<A HREF="url.htm#TOP">URL</A>). The
  41. URL for this document, for example, appears in the URL field at the
  42. top of this window.

  46. If you know the address of what you want to view, choose Open URL from the File
  47. menu, type the address, and click OK.

  62. HREF="hotlist.htm">hotlist</A> so that you can find it again later.

  66. You can use the Back and Forward buttons to move between documents you have
  67. viewed. To see a list of the last several documents you have viewed, display the
  68. <A HREF="history.htm">history list</A>. To view one of the documents again, select
  69. it from the list.

  73. If you ever feel lost, simply choose Home from the Navigate menu to go back to
  74. your own <A HREF="home.htm">home page</A>.
